Project Description
Bay Village Noosa – Photography & Website
The Brief
I was approached by Bay Village Shopping Centre to create an online presence for the Centre. The brief centered on bright colours, simple navigation and a quick and easy overview of the centre and its tenants. It had to work well on tablets and mobiles and be graphic, fun and simple.
It’s a small centre and their ambitions were realistic and in keeping with their management contract. There would not be a lot of site interaction, and it had a simple job of informing prospective shoppers about the shops available and contact and transport details etc. In the future, a blog will be added to develop some more customer interaction and some more search engine entry points.
Our Design Approach
We started with the colours of the logo and went from there. As there were five colours in the logo, we decided to create five main sections that matched the type of shops they have and one for centre information. Fonts were chosen to be easy to read and relatively large. A dark theme was chosen for its graphic impact, along with some commissioned professional photography to complement the site.
The Results
The site looks fresh and bright and gives an immediate sense of the venue and location (situated on the world famous Hastings St, in Noosa Heads.) It works well on all devices, and presents the information in a graphic and easy to find manner.
In the end, it was all about colour and design and the look and feel of the place. Check it out at http://www.bayvillagenoosa.com.au
