Project Description

Brad Baker Photography – Website

The Brief

Brad is a friend of mine who needed a new photography website. It developed into a reasonably complex brief, as the main failures of the previous website were largely structural. He wanted a site that would be able to grow over a number of years, with easy options for updating content both on the front page, the galleries and in the blog. The site also had to function perfectly on all devices and load quickly.

Our Design Approach

We started with the idea of a visual wall of his images on the front page. one that could easily be added to. Brad is a landscape and conceptual photographer, and much of his work is not just a single image, but a collection of images in a theme. To this end, we made the front image wall consist of galleries instead of just single images. The site is very image focused, and presents the work in a very aesthetic way, with the image presentation always at the fore.

The Results

This site is a great example of why I LOVE what I do. It was a complex job requiring much planning and very careful preparation on many hundred images. The end result is visually striking, but most importantly, the site is perfectly set up for ease of new content automatically updating the site’s home page and galleries.
